This month’s installment of BBM Beauty Quiz features one of my friends of my Mommy Tribe, Candace from @FoodLoveTog.
Do you cook wearing makeup?
I do. I don’t wear a full face often, but I cook in makeup, out of makeup.. whatever. Just put me in the kitchen!
Do you have a skincare routine? If so, what do you use?
I do. I use a combination of Mary Kay TimeWise Products for cleansing and moisturizing. I also use Aragan oil for facial cleansing every other day. My makeup bag is full of goodness, I use Bare Minerals Matte powder foundation as well as Cover Girl’s BB Cream. I’m a fan of Smashbox primer. I can always find a good eyeshadow anywhere. My favorite red lippie is by Wet n Wild!
How do you avoid breakouts?
Ugh.. breakouts. 30-year-old acne sucks. Straight up. But I try to avoid them at all costs. Drinking water and making sure to clean my face daily is the best I can do. I also try not eat a ton of fried foods. Chicken Wings are my weakness though.
How do you juggle family, blogging, and career?
The struggle. Balancing it all is always a challenge, but it gets done. Family comes first always. There are somethings I just can’t do, or attend and I’m ok with saying No. Years ago I wasn’t and I’m glad I’m in a place to stand up for myself and my time. In my career I just do what I’m charged to do. I was overworked and underpaid a while and go and it took a toll on my life. My current employer is great, and I have an awesome schedule that works for me and my family.
Blogging and my food business is big for me, but most of my work is done after everyone has gone to bed. I’m big on making lists and big on scheduling out posts and tweets, so that I don’t have to be chained to my phone or computer. It’s a crazy life, but it’s a tasty one. 🙂
Do you have any advice for the readers of BBM?
Hmmm.. Advice, the best things I can share are to live in your truth and make no apologies for it. Also, our dreams and stories are never just for us. God has purposed this life down to the mistakes, missteps and back-steps. All of our steps are ordered. The good and bad. It’s all in how you use them, that will either propel you forward or keep you stagnant.
Candace even sent us a recipe for my readers: Savory Popovers
, perfect for brunch!
